A Legacy of Excellence

The French School of Music was established in 1927 by renowned concert pianist, Yvonne Combe, together with Hélène Pfeiffer and Michelle Séguin, based on the principle that anyone, children and novices included, can learn the art of music.

Mme. Combe's studies at the Paris Conservatory brought her in direct contact with such great French composers as Ravel, Saint-Saëns, Fauré, and Debussy.

This musical legacy continued under the direction of Stephen Waters, who studied and worked closely with Mme. Combe since the age of nine. After Mme. Combe's passing in 1992, the School was acquired by Stephen and his wife, Judy.

Today, the French School of Music continues the same standard of excellence in piano teaching and music instruction through its dedicated and experienced teachers. The curriculum includes a wide variety of instruments and styles, group lessons, ensembles, and a special foreign languages component has returned to the course offerings.

The School welcomes all ages and skill levels. We look forward to sharing the joy of music with you and your family.
